Dublin Bay Old Gaffers Association – Illustrated Lecture – The story of “Aigh Vie” – by – Paddy Murphy – Poolbeg Yacht Club, Ringsend, – Tuesday, – December 1st at 8 pm – “Aigh vie”, which means “good luck” in Manx Gaelic, is a ‘Nobby’ owned by Paddy, Built in Peel in the Isle of Man as a sailing fishing boat in 1916, she has been painstakingly rebuilt and restored by Paddy in Connemara. He will be sailing her back to the Isle of Man in 2016 for the hundredth anniversary of her launch. Paddy will be recounting the story of her restoration and rebuilding, and her most interesting history, which includes her connection with the sinking of the liner “Lusitania” off Kinsale in 1915. – All are welcome – come early to be sure of a seat – Bar and refreshments – Car Parking – Please forward this to anyone who might be interested
