Original newspaper report of the crime and execution of pirates, who were left hanging, one at Muglins and another at the Pigeon House. They had seized the ship “Earl of Sandwich”, murdered Captain Glass, his wife and daughter and most of the crew.

New Book on Irish Shipping

The Rosslare Maritime Enthusiasts based at The Rosslare Maritime Heritage Centre in Rosslare Harbour, Wexford, are currently coming to the end of a 4/5 year project to produce a book entitled ‘Irish Shipping Ltd. – A Fleet History’.

Print of Asgard II by Pat Dover

Archived: Support two charities by purchasing a print of a painting by Pat Dover, Wicklow.
Pat has painted Asgard II many times, especially on her many visits to the port of Wicklow.
He painted from a picture taken by John Manning Irish Coast Guard helicopter crewman.
It was photographed on 10th July 2005.
Asgard II led out the tall ships from Waterford on that day.
It was a calm day, emphasised by the slackness of the sails.
It will benefit the new “Pride of Ireland” fund.
It will also benefit the Maritime Institute.

New Sea Memorial at Skerries

The President Mr Michael Higgins unveiled a new sea memorial at Skerries on
Sunday 30 September 2013. The memorial consists of a refurbished rocket
rescue team practice pole used by the Coastguard service to train for rescue
of sailors from ships stranded offshore.
